Last night was my first workshop here in Catalonia. As part of the Digital Media Seminar, there was a "vodcast/podcast" night over at a local bar which had been transformed into a laptop lab for the occasion. It was a drop-in event, and we showed people how to do some down and dirty video editing and upload directly to blip.tv to start their own video blog. Of course, I hadn't thought about this earlier, but Mike Hudack, the founder of Blip, was one of the speakers at the conference so he came and helped out which was super since I am still learning how to do this! Anyway, the night was a lot of fun, people were pretty mellow and open to playing around. It made me realize all the random technical vocabulary I need to learn in Castellano and Catalán. I'm also glad to report that no beer was spilled on any of the laptops.
The video is just a few short highlights since I was pretty busy! You can also listen to an interview with the local radio station about my project here which starts off in Catalán and then switches to some fumbling in Spanish on my part!
