Midyear Report

The Fulbright Commission requests a midyear report from us, just a brief update of our timeline and what we've been up to. I figured I'd post it here as well just in case anyone thinks I've only been walking on the beach. And yet, it seems like a shame not to include a bit of the beach as well. Here's a photo from the Basque coast that my mom took.

Vlogging in Barcelona

MUNYOKI.NETIn the whole time I lived and worked in Boston, I don't believe I ever attended a meeting for vloggers. Nor did I attend many workshops/training/demos in bars. And yet, in my short time here, I have been to not one but two vlogging bar nights.
Vimoz, was intended as an on and offline networking session for video bloggers in various parts of Spain and Latin America. Like myself, many of the people I met were not "video bloggers" per se, but rather folks working on multimedia projects in one form or another--there was a multimedia artist working and living in Vilanova i la Geltru, Maria de Marias of
Dogoneff, Ana Solana of the
Diari de Barcelona, and Laura and Marta of
Històries de Barcelona. I'm hoping to entice a few of them to make the journey down to Tarragona as guest speakers in my class. If not, could be an opportunity to try out a webcam interview. We shall see.
