Websites by Creative Narrations:
The internet has revolutionized the ability of all individuals and organizations to put out their message in a public way. Yet most community organizations have not yet tapped into the internet as a means to portray the stories that drive their work.
The following websites illustrate the potential for integrating video, audio, photography and text in order to represent community driven efforts. Creative Narrations specializes in all aspects of website production, from training in web-design to identifying inexpensive hosting solutions.

Somerville Community Mapping Project
During the summer of 2005, Somerville Community Corporation interns and community members collected data and stories about East Somerville to create a large community map. Creative Narrations and Optay Studios took the information and transformed it into a multimedia website. SCC is now using the website as a community planning tool.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation Community Leadership Institute
This fall, Sean Effel Creative Narrations worked with the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation to launch a website for The Massachusetts Institute for Community Health Leadership. The website features a log-in and blog area for Institute members, a calendar and events page that Foundation staff can easily update, and videos produced by associate Julie Mallozzi.

Schott Fellowship in Early Education
Creative Narrations associate Sean Effel created a website for the Schott Fellowship using a drupal platform. This approach will allow Schott staff to update the site themselves, manage events, and upload new publications.

Inhalant Abuse Prevention
Creative Narrations worked with The New England Inhalant Abuse Prevention Coalition to document the work of the Coalition and its state partners through text and video. This multimedia site is innovative in its use of video interviews as a tool for evaluation.

Stories of Survival
Natasha Freidus and Jennifer Audley of Creative Narrations worked as artists-in-residence at the South Area Solomon Schechter School from 2004-2006. This website presents videos created by the current eighth grade class following their interviews of local area Holocaust survivors.

Asking the Right Questions
Part of the ongoing collaboration between Creative Narrations and The Right Question Project, this website and DVD document the impact of RQP's work in early childhood settings. View interview clips with parents who have used RQP's methods and see digital stories created by early childhood teachers.

Close to Home
Close to Home Domestic Violence Prevention Initiative's unique approach is documented through their multimedia website. Residents and organizers in Dorchester have used the digital stories on this site as tools for breaking the silence around domestic violence.
Changes in the Valley
This website was created as part of a Masters thesis for the Department of Urban Studies and Planning at MIT. It incorporates photography, audio, and digital video to illustrate the changes that occur in individuals through their participation as community leaders.

Central Square, Cambridge
This photo essay examines the unique nature of Central Square through five themes: community, change, continuity, commerce, and controversy. It highlights the ramifications that may be experienced by any neighborhood undergoing such rapid vitalization.
