Your Story, Digitally!
You
are invited to participate in an innovative digital storytelling workshop
where you will learn to use a computer to make digital videos about your
life. Digital stories are used to build community, to advocate, and to
give voice to people who are not traditionally represented in commercial
media. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have a DVD with
their story and the capacity to teach other people this skill. Creating a digital story isn’t like writing an essay for school, it’s an opportunity to create something unique, to tell your story in your own voice. The workshop is an excellent opportunity to learn new tools. It’s a lot of work, but you’ll enjoy it! Participation in this workshop requires commitment—you will learn new software, write and record a personal story, and create a brief video of 2 to 4 minutes.
Agenda:
Session 1 – Introduction: What is a digital story?
Session 2 – How to tell and write stories
Session 3 – Introduction to storyboarding
Session 4 – Voiceover recording and digital image manipulation
Session 5 – Editing – digitizing other materials (audio, video, etc.)
Session 6 – Editing – introduction to multimedia editing
Session 7– Editing – special effects and finalizing stories
Session 8 – Screening of completed stories and discussion

This workshop is a collaboration among the municipality of Vilanova i la Geltrú, la Universidad Rovira i Virgili, and Creative Narrations.
