Investing In Futures: Stories About Why We Support Education in Arizona
- June 18, 19, 21 and 22
- 9-3pm each day
- Tucson, AZ Exact Location TBD
CommunityShare is sponsoring a professional development opportunity for diverse stakeholders to learn the art of digital storytelling while sharing stories about why we are committed to education in our state. The workshop will be facilitated by Josh Schachter and Jen Nowicki Clark.
Enrolled participants will learn the basics of digital story development and production. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have completed one 2-3 minute video highlighting his or her own experience with education. In this workshop, participants will be asked to think about their own learning experiences, what learning experiences were transformative as a child, how they invest in education today, how they benefit from a quality education system, and what role the larger community can play in supporting education for everyone. These stories are intended to be shared publicly to spark wider community engagement and ongoing conversations around how to create a healthier system for learning throughout Arizona.
Agenda:
June 18: Developing, editing and storyboarding your story
June 19: Recording and gathering images and video clips (use the following day to gather more material from home if needed)
