Marilyn Calbert
YWCA Seattle, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Marilyn Calbert works to educate African American women about breast cancer at Seattle's YWCA.  This story tells of her painful loss of her sister in law Julie, as well as her mother, Alline McIntosh. Stung by breast cancer, Marilyn is energized to rid the world of this venomous disease.

How this story is being used for change:

Marilyn will use this story as a health educator at Seattle's YWCA. Along with other grantees from the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Marilyn will create new stories about breast cancer to conduct outreach and advocate for women in communities of color.
